Google provides two methods of taking large amounts of your Google information out of your Google account.  Both of these methods will be discussed in detail below, but first let us look at an overview...

Archive
Transfer
Can take out almost anything related to your Google account (files, YouTube videos, contacts, etc…) Can transfer Google Drive files and Gmail
Have fine tuned control of specific items to take out, down to individual folders in Google Drive Can take out all of Drive, Gmail, or both
The archived files (typically .zip) are either sent to you via an email link, or deposited in your Google Drive, Dropbox, or Onedrive account.  These files need to be unarchived before use. The transferred files are ready to use immediately
Google files (docs, sheets, etc…) are converted to formats of your choosing (.docx, .rtf, etc…).  They do not remain Google files. Google files transfer to the new account as Google files.
